Chicken Kosha

Ingredients:

  • 500 gms whole chicken (cut into small pieces)
  • 2 medium potatoes cut into quarters
  • 4 medium onions sliced
  • 2 medium tomatoes chopped
  • 2 red chilies chopped
  • 2 green chilies chopped
  • 2 tbsp ginger paste
  • 2 tbsp garlic paste
  • 1/2 tbsp turmeric powder
  • 1/2 tbsp red chili powder
  • 1/2 tbsp coriander powder
  • 3 tbsp tomato chili sauce
  • 6-7 tbsp mustard oil
  • Salt to taste
  • 1/4 tbsp sahi garam masala powder **

Making procedure:


Heat oil in a kadai and fry potatoes on medium heat till they turn light golden.Then remove from oil. Add chicken to oil and sauté for 2 minutes on high flame. Remove chicken and keep aside.

Fry onion slices on low flame for 10-15 minutes. Now add ginger garlic paste along with turmeric, red chili and coriander powder and fry for a minute.

Now add chopped tomatoes, red & green chili. Smash the tomatoes and fry for a while. Add 3 tbsp tomato-chili sauce, chicken and potatoes. Mix well and cook it covered for 5 minutes.

Pour 2 cups of warm water along with salt and cook it covered on low medium heat till the chicken and potatoes are done. Sprinkle shahi garam masala powder.

Serve with hot rice, roti or paratha.
