Cholar Daler Halwa

Ingredients:

»         200 grams cholar dal (chana dal)
»         150 grams sugar
»         50 grams ghee
»         2 bay leaves
»         25 grams cashew (chopped)
»         15 grams raisin
»         pinch of cardamom powder

Making Procedure:

Wash the cholar dal, put it into a pressure cooker and give 1 whistle and keep it until steam release on its own. Put the boiled dal into a colander for drain the water.

Now grind the boiled dal with a grinding stone or grinder.

Heat the ghee in a kadai (preferably non-stick ) or heavy bottom pan, add bay leaves and fry it for a while.  Add the dal paste into ghee and fry till it turns light golden and semi crumbly.

Now add sugar, chopped cashew and raisins. Stir and mix it well. Stir occasionally and cook it till the sugar are semi dissolved. Sprinkle cardamom powder on it and mix.

Remove the halwa in a serving bowl. Garnish it with cashew, raisins and cardamom powder.

Serve it warm.
