Mushroom Manchurian



Ingredients:

  • 25o grams button mushroom
  • Salt
  • Oil for deep frying

For marinate:

  • 5 tbsp. cornflour
  • 1/2 tbsp. ginger-garlic paste
  • 1/2 tbsp. green chili paste
  • 1/2 egg (optional)
  • A pinch of salt
  • A pinch of ajinomoto

For sauce:

  • 1/2 cup spring onion (chopped)
  • 2 tbsp. soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp. tomato-chili sauce
  • 1 tbsp. chili vinegar
  • 1 tbsp. oil
  • 2 1/2 tbsp. ginger-garlic paste
  • 1 tbsp. green chili paste
  • 1 tbsp. cornflour (dissolved in 1/2 cup water)
  • A pinch of ajinomoto
  • Salt to taste

Making Procedure:


Cut mushroom into half, wash well and keep aside.

In a mixing bowl mix ginger-garlic paste, green chili paste, salt, ajinomoto, corn flour, egg and make a batter.

Heat oil in a wok. Dip the mushroom into the batter and fry in hot oil.

In a another pan hit oil, add spring onion, ginger-garlic & green chili paste. Fry for 2 minutes on low medium heat. Add 1/2 cup of water and bring it to boil.

Then add soy sauce, tomato-chili sauce, chili vinegar, oil, salt, ajinomoto and mix well. Add the fried mushroom and slowly stir for a minute on medium heat.

Now add dissolved cornflour and mix it well. Cook it till the gravy is thicken to your desired consistency.

Garnish with chopped spring onion and serve hot.
