Rui Kasundi (Rohu with Mustard Sauce)

4 pieces of medium sized Rohu fish

2 tbsp. poppy seed paste
»
1/4 tbsp. nigella seed (kalonji)
»
1/4 tbsp. turmeric powder
»
1/4 tbsp. coriander powder
»
1/2 tbsp. cumin powder
»
4 tbsp. mustard sauce (kasundi)
»
Salt
»
5-6 tbsp. mustard oil
»
2-3 green chilies
»
Few coriander leaves
(chopped)
Making Procedure:
Wash
the fishes and marinate them with little salt and turmeric powder for 5
minutes.
Heat
mustard oil in a wok or kadai till it begins to smoke. Then reduce heat and add
fish pieces. Fry it on medium heat. Remove fishes from the wok and keep it
aside.
Now
add nigella seed, 1 green chili (slitted) in the kadai and fry for few seconds
on low flame. Then add the spices ( poppy seed paste, mustard sauce,
coriander, cumin and turmeric powder) and mix them well and cook it till the
oil separates.
Then
add 1/2 cup of water, salt, chopped green chili and stir it, now add fish
in it and put on the lid.
Cook
on low flame for 5 minutes. Garnish with chopped coriander leaves.
Serve
with hot rice.
