Sooji Halwa or Semolina Halwa

Ingredients:

  • 100 grams sooji
  • 100 grams sugar
  • 3 tbsp. + 1 tsp. pure ghee (clarified butter)
  • 400 ml milk
  • 1/3 tsp. green cardamom powder
  • 15 grams cashew nuts
  • 4-6 pieces of almond (cut into halves) 


Making Procedure:


Heat ghee in a kadai and fry sooji until it turns off white in color.

Add sugar and fry it for a minute on simmer. Then add milk, cashew nuts and half of green cardamom powder into it. 
Stir well and cook over low heat for 5 minutes or till the milk is absorbed.

Now add remaining green cardamom powder. Stir continuously and mix it well.

Remove from heat and pour the halwa into a serving bowl. Spread 1 tsp. ghee over it and garnish with almonds.

Sooji Halwa is ready to serve. Serve hot or warm as you prefer.
