Chilli Chicken

Ingredients:

  •  450 grams boneless chicken (cut into small cubes)
  •  2 medium size onions (thick slices)
  •  8-10 cloves of garlic (chopped)
  •  6-8 green chilies (chopped)
  •  1 medium size green capsicum (seeded thick stripes)
  •  2 tbsp. dark soy sauce
  •  2 tbsp. red chili sauce
  •  1 tbsp. chili vinegar
  •  1tbsp. + 1/4tsp. corn flour (dissolved in 1/2 cup water)
  •  Salt
  •  200 ml water
  •  2-3 tbsp. oil + oil for deep frying

For marinate:
  •  1 tsp. dark soy sauce
  •  1/2 tsp. black pepper powder
  •  1 tbsp + 1/4 tsp. corn flour
  •  1 1/2 tbsp. all purpose floor
  •  1 egg
  •  A pinch of salt


Making procedure:


Marinate the chicken with all the ingredients from marinate list and keep it in refrigerator for 1 hour.


Heat oil in a kadai and deep fry the marinated chicken pieces till golden in colour. Remove the chicken pieces from oil and keep warm.

Heat 2 tbsp oil in another kadai and fry garlic for half a minute on low heat. Add green chilies and fry for a minute on low heat. Then add onion, capsicum and 
fry for 3-5 minutes on medium heat.

Now add dark soy sauce, red chili sauce and stir the mixture for a minute. Add
1/2 cup of water and stir well to mix it. Then bring it to boil.

Now add fried chicken pieces, dissolved cornflour and salt. Mix well and cook it covered for 3-5  minutes on low heat or until it reaches your desired consistency. Then open the lid and add vinegar. Mix well and cook it for a minute.

Remove from heat and garnish with broken red & green chilies.


Serve hot with fried rice or chowmein.
